Guatemala Adopts Kyoto Convention to Modernize Customs
On March 10, 2022, Guatemala officially acceded to the Revised Kyoto Convention (RKC), becoming its 131st contracting party. This milestone signifies Guatemala's commitment to adopting international customs standards. By implementing digitalization, advanced risk management, and efficient appeal mechanisms, the country aims to significantly enhance trade facilitation. Furthermore, this accession positions Guatemala to play a more proactive regional leadership role in global customs governance and the management of emergency relief supplies.
