With the assistance of the World Customs Organization (WCO), Comoros has upgraded its national commodity nomenclature to the HS 2012 version and signed the instrument of accession to the HS Convention. This aims to improve Comoros' trade efficiency, tariff revenue, and international image, bringing new opportunities for its economic development. Capacity building will follow to enhance customs officers' understanding and application of the HS.

The WCO supported the Colombian National Tax and Customs Directorate (DIAN) in its strategic planning efforts. Burkina Faso Customs, with the support of the WCO's WACAM project, conducted its first Time Release Study (TRS) to identify clearance bottlenecks and improve efficiency. The WCO provided training and technical assistance to help Burkina Faso implement the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement, improve the business environment, and promote trade development. The TRS, through data analysis, provides Customs with improvement measures to reduce trade costs and enhance international competitiveness.

The World Customs Organization (WCO) successfully conducted a Post-Clearance Audit (PCA) technical assistance workshop for the Colombian Tax and Customs Authority (DIAN). The workshop aimed to enhance DIAN's PCA capabilities and assist in applying the WCO PCA diagnostic tool. Through expert training and guidance, DIAN made significant progress in understanding PCA concepts, improving audit processes, and developing long-term development strategies.
