As cross-border e-commerce continues to flourish, enhanced logistics capacity has become crucial for maintaining smooth trade flows. On June 5, China Postal Airlines and Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport jointly inaugurated the regular "Zhengzhou-Seoul" international cargo route, marking the resumption of scheduled operations following pandemic-related disruptions.
At 10:24 AM local time, a Boeing 737-800 freighter fully loaded with cross-border e-commerce goods took off from Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport, arriving at Incheon International Airport in Seoul at 12:15 PM. This new air corridor significantly improves trade efficiency between the two regions while reinforcing Zhengzhou's position as China's fourth international mail hub port.
The head of China Postal Airlines' Zhengzhou office stated, "Regular flights will not only enhance the logistics capabilities of Zhengzhou's air port but also inject new vitality into trade between Henan Province and South Korea." According to the flight schedule, the Zhengzhou-Seoul route will operate three times weekly, with departures every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Air connectivity between Zhengzhou and Seoul has strengthened steadily since the inaugural flight in 2019. The upcoming China Postal Airlines Hub Project, signed on August 26, 2024, is expected to further accelerate this development. Upon completion, the project will significantly elevate Zhengzhou's status as an international air cargo hub, transforming Henan Province's transportation advantages into economic benefits.
Through its strategic partnership with Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport, China Postal Airlines aims to optimize air logistics resources along the route and enhance foreign trade capabilities for Henan Province and beyond. A company representative emphasized, "The regular operation of this route marks comprehensive progress in our hub project, with future focus on advancing air logistics development."
The launch of this regular cargo route presents new opportunities for Zhengzhou's international logistics platform, providing robust support for economic and trade cooperation between China and South Korea. As operations continue, the route is expected to deliver precise and efficient logistics services to businesses, fostering international trade growth and driving new expansion in cross-border e-commerce.
