Program Background: Addressing Change in Island Nation's Trade Infrastructure

Known for its pristine beaches and luxury resorts, the Maldives maintains an economy heavily dependent on tourism and fisheries. However, increasing participation in global trade networks necessitated stronger customs capabilities to ensure smooth trade flows, national security, and effective revenue collection.
