The companies plan to gradually expand this service to include graded cards selling for over $250, bringing enhanced security and transparency to a broader range of transactions. This initiative comes just four months after eBay launched its raw trading card authentication guarantee and follows its existing partnership with Certified Collectibles Group (CCG) to authenticate ungraded cards selling above $250.
Building a Comprehensive Collectibles Ecosystem
Beyond authentication services, eBay introduced several innovative tools in 2021 including price guides, collection management features, and image scanning capabilities. The platform also plans to launch eBay Vault later this year - a secure storage facility and digital marketplace designed to streamline transactions by enabling instant ownership transfers without requiring re-authentication or physical shipping.
