
The World Customs Organization (WCO) has inaugurated its 81st-84th Joint Scholarship Program specifically designed for Spanish-speaking customs officials. The virtual opening ceremony, held on May 17th and presided over by the WCO Deputy Secretary General, marks a significant opportunity for professional development in the customs sector.
Funded by the Japan Customs Administration and the Korean Ministry of Finance, the program brings together participants from twelve countries including Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, and several other Spanish-speaking nations.

The initial three-week phase will be conducted entirely through remote learning, allowing participants to access world-class customs training without geographical constraints. The comprehensive curriculum covers all aspects of customs administration, with subsequent phases including management development modules and on-site visits to partner institutions when health conditions permit.

Participants will benefit from lectures delivered by WCO specialists, gaining in-depth knowledge of WCO standards, tools, and methodologies.
