Vietnam Airlines Expands China South Korea Routes Amid Trade Push

As global trade regains momentum, efficient air transportation plays a pivotal role in facilitating international commerce. Vietnam Airlines, a key member of the SkyTeam alliance, is strategically expanding its international route network to strengthen air connectivity between Vietnam and major Asian markets.

New Beijing-Ho Chi Minh City Route: Five Weekly Flows Connecting Business Hubs

Starting March 30, 2025, Vietnam Airlines will launch a new route connecting Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) with Ho Chi Minh City (SGN). The airline will operate five weekly flights on this route, catering to growing business and tourism demand between the two cities.

The flight schedule has been optimized for passenger convenience: departures from Ho Chi Minh City at 00:45 with arrival in Beijing at 06:30, while return flights leave Beijing at 08:30 and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 12:25. This new connection will provide northern Chinese businesses with more efficient logistics options for accessing the Vietnamese and Southeast Asian markets.

Enhanced Beijing-Hanoi Connectivity: Increased Flight Frequency

In addition to the new Daxing route, Vietnam Airlines will increase flight frequency between Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) and Hanoi. This expansion will significantly improve air connectivity between the two capital cities, facilitating business exchanges, cultural interactions, and tourism between China and Vietnam.

Nha Trang-Busan: Daily Flights to Strengthen Korean Market Presence

From June 1, 2025, Vietnam Airlines will extend its Korean market reach with new daily direct flights between Nha Trang and Busan. This addition will bring the airline's Vietnam-Korea route network to six connections, including Hanoi-Seoul, Ho Chi Minh City-Seoul, Da Nang-Seoul, Nha Trang-Seoul, Hanoi-Busan, and the new Nha Trang-Busan route.

With over 50 weekly flights between Vietnam and South Korea, Vietnam Airlines demonstrates strong commitment to this strategic market. The expansion is expected to boost economic cooperation and cultural exchange between the two nations.

A321 Fleet Deployment: Comfort Meets Efficiency

The Ho Chi Minh City-Beijing Daxing and Nha Trang-Busan routes will be served by Airbus A321 aircraft featuring a two-class configuration. The business class offers 16 adjustable seats in a 2-2 layout, while economy class provides 168 seats in a 3-3 arrangement. This comfortable cabin design aims to reduce travel fatigue and ensure passengers arrive refreshed.

Vietnam Airlines' network expansion reflects both its market responsiveness and ambition to become a key aviation hub connecting Asia with global markets. The carrier continues to prioritize passenger experience while optimizing its route structure and service quality.
