Logistics Leaders Win IANA Silver Kingpin Connie Awards

The North American intermodal transportation sector will honor two distinguished professionals at the upcoming Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) annual conference in Long Beach on September 16. Mike Wilson, CEO of Consolidated Chassis Management (CCM), and Steve Branscum, former executive at BNSF Railway, will jointly receive the 2019 Silver Kingpin Award in recognition of their decades-long contributions to multimodal transportation.

Dual Honorees: Celebrating Wilson and Branscum's Legacies

Mike Wilson, who assumed leadership of CCM in April 2019, brings nearly four decades of international trade and transportation expertise. His distinguished career includes senior leadership roles at Crowley Maritime, United Arab Shipping, United States Lines, Atlantic Container Line, and most recently as Senior Vice President at Hamburg Sud North America. Wilson's cross-modal experience spanning maritime, land, and intermodal operations has positioned him as a thought leader in transportation innovation.

Steve Branscum, the rail industry veteran, earned recognition for his transformative work during his tenure at BNSF Railway. His initiatives significantly advanced rail transportation modernization and operational efficiency, establishing new benchmarks for the sector.

Connie Award Recognizes Shea and Lytle's Achievements

Concurrent with the Silver Kingpin ceremony, the Containerization & Intermodal Institute (CII) will present its Connie Award to two additional industry leaders: Bill Shea and J. Christopher Lytle.

Bill Shea's three-decade career in transportation leasing began at Itel Rail Corporation before co-founding Kelley Transportation Services, where he demonstrated exceptional market acumen and operational leadership. J. Christopher Lytle, Executive Director of the Port of Oakland, receives recognition for his stewardship of one of America's busiest ports, having previously contributed significantly to the Port of Long Beach's development.

Prestigious Honors in Multimodal Transportation

The Silver Kingpin Award represents IANA's highest honor, reserved for individuals whose sustained contributions have fundamentally advanced intermodal transportation. Selection criteria emphasize both professional achievement and lasting industry impact. Wilson's previous recognition with the 2018 Connie Award further underscores his standing as a multimodal pioneer.

Similarly, the Connie Award acknowledges transformative contributions to containerization and intermodal transport. Both awards share rigorous selection processes that identify true industry innovators.

Industry Gathering in Long Beach

The IANA conference serves as the premier annual forum for multimodal transportation professionals worldwide. This year's Long Beach event will convene experts to examine emerging trends, operational challenges, and strategic opportunities shaping the future of global supply chains.
