As China's northeastern industrial heartland renews its revitalization efforts, Liaoning Port Group has emerged as a key facilitator for regional manufacturers seeking global expansion, recently marking a milestone with the successful export of 300 Jinbei vehicles from Shenyang.
The shipment, loaded at Dalian Port's automobile terminal, represents a strategic breakthrough in connecting Liaoning's manufacturing sector with international markets through efficient logistics networks. The vehicles will be transported via roll-on/roll-off vessels to overseas destinations where they will serve urban transit needs.
Integrated Logistics Strategy
As the primary gateway for Northeast China's international trade, Liaoning Port Group has implemented a "industrial cluster + logistics hub" development model. The conglomerate has established specialized logistics systems spanning automotive, cold chain, and hazardous materials transportation to support regional manufacturers.
The Jinbei vehicle export operation exemplifies this strategy. Since the Shenyang-based automaker resumed full vehicle production in early 2024, port authorities have closely coordinated with the company to develop tailored logistics solutions. Initial groundwork began in May with the export of complete knockdown (KD) kits through the port's logistics subsidiary.
Customized Export Solutions
In October, a joint task force from Liaoning Port Group conducted on-site assessments at Jinbei's facilities to design an optimized export protocol. The resulting solution creatively combines containerized and roll-on/roll-off transportation methods to maximize cost efficiency.
The partners are now collaborating to establish dedicated container export channels, creating a flexible multimodal logistics network that will provide the automaker with competitive advantages in overseas markets. The vehicles exported in this shipment are destined for short-distance transit applications in price-sensitive markets.
Broader Industrial Implications
This successful operation has established a replicable model for other Liaoning manufacturers pursuing international expansion. Leveraging its comprehensive logistics capabilities, Liaoning Port Group is positioning itself as a critical node connecting Northeast China's industrial output with Belt and Road Initiative markets across Southeast Asia and Central Asia.
The port authority plans to expand these integrated logistics services to support more regional manufacturers, contributing to the broader revitalization of China's traditional industrial bases through enhanced global connectivity.
