When textbook knowledge meets the rapidly evolving world of cross-border e-commerce, how can vocational students stay ahead of industry trends while still in school? On January 16, 2024, more than 150 e-commerce students from Anxi Overseas Chinese Vocational School stepped out of the classroom and into the Anxi Cross-Border E-Commerce Industrial Park for an immersive learning experience.

Building Global Market Perspectives

The program began with an educational session about cross-border e-commerce platforms. Wang Nengjie, director of Anxi County Cross-Border E-Commerce Public Service Center, explained the operational logic and market strategies of major platforms, highlighting the successful implementation of the local "Anxi Products Going Global" initiative. Students gained comprehensive understanding of how cross-border e-commerce connects global markets, establishing theoretical foundations for subsequent practical sessions.

Product Selection: The Key to Success

Students then visited the industrial park's product selection center, where they examined various local specialties including exquisite handicrafts and practical household items. Staff members detailed critical aspects of product selection including packaging design, quality control, market research, and target audience positioning. Through hands-on observation, students learned why "good product selection is the first step to cross-border success."

Understanding Industry Support Systems

At the Cross-Border E-Commerce Public Service Center, students learned about comprehensive support services including policy consultation, professional training, and compliance assistance. The visit demonstrated how local government actively fosters new business models in cross-border e-commerce, strengthening students' confidence in industry prospects and inspiring their career aspirations.

Behind-the-Scenes Look at E-Commerce Operations

The program concluded with a visit to Quanzhou Yuanmei Landscape Engineering Co., where company executives shared practical operational experiences. Students observed the complete workflow from product listing and marketing to order processing, logistics, and customer service. The first-hand exposure to daily operations provided invaluable insights into real-world e-commerce practices.

"Textbook concepts have transformed into tangible operations I can see and touch. This experience has clarified my future learning direction," one participating student remarked enthusiastically. The program not only reinforced theoretical knowledge but gave students practical understanding of industry operations, equipping them with valuable experience for future careers.

School-Enterprise Collaboration Fosters Talent Development

This initiative represents a significant collaboration between Anxi Overseas Chinese Vocational School and the industrial park to cultivate e-commerce talent. The Public Service Center will continue facilitating industry-academia partnerships through various programs, helping vocational students connect with industry frontiers and master professional skills. Students are expected to leverage this opportunity to develop specialized competencies and contribute to the expansion of local products in global markets.
