Against this backdrop, the 3rd Renewable Energy Investment & Value Enhancement Innovation Forum will convene during the 2025 Beijing International Wind Energy Exhibition (CWP2025). Organized by the China General Certification Center with support from financial institutions and asset managers, the forum aims to develop innovative financing solutions, risk management tools, and asset valuation frameworks for renewable energy projects.
Renewable Energy Growth: Progress and Challenges
China's renewable sector has achieved remarkable expansion, with installed capacity reaching 369 GW by August 2025. Solar power leads with 112 GW (48.5% year-on-year growth), followed by wind at 58 GW (22.1% increase). The energy storage sector shows similar momentum, reaching 94.91 GW, while green hydrogen projects under development exceed 6.5 million tons annual capacity.
However, this rapid growth masks significant challenges. Renewable projects require massive upfront investments with extended payback periods, while their intermittent power generation creates complex asset management and risk mitigation requirements. Enhancing project bankability through improved valuation methodologies and risk controls has become essential for attracting investment.

The forum will examine comprehensive financial service models for wind projects and specialized financing mechanisms for energy storage applications:

- Commercial & Industrial Storage Financing: Addressing barriers to energy storage adoption through innovative funding structures that reduce capital costs for end-users.
- Wind Farm Retrofit Guidelines: Launch of the 2025 technical whitepaper outlining modernization strategies for aging wind assets.
2. Asset Valuation Methodologies
Discussions will focus on tools for assessing operational assets and strategies to enhance project economics:
- Wind Asset Evaluation Model: Introduction of a standardized framework for assessing operational wind projects.
